New Job at Kingdom Advisors

Selvin Ortiz / December 25, 2015

I am super excited to announce that I will be starting the new year as the acting Senior Developer for Atlanta based company, Kingdom Advisors.

About Kingdom Advisors #

Kingdom Advisors is a Christian organization whos primary goal is to integrate faith into finance.

Their main online property is a membership based website built on Craft CMS that runs on Amazon Web Services.

You can find out more about them by visiting their about page.

About my new role #

In a nutshell, I will be responsible for ongoing product development and online property operations.

Put another way… I’ll be writing tons of code to improve the website and its associated services as well as fine tuning our AWS environment and deployment workflow to increase availability and minimize downtime.

This is a great opportunity that I am blessed to have.

I am looking forward to continue to work with Craft CMS on a daily basis, play with all the toys that AWS provides, and focus more on security, availability, and scalability.

By the way… Kingdom Advisors is headquartered in Atlanta and all employees work on location but I get to stay in Minnesota until my 12 year old stepson (Grayson) is done with high school. This could have been a deal breaker but they were very kind to let me work remotely and I am very thankful for that.

About my new team #

I haven not had a chance to meet everyone in the team yet but I know they are a bunch of talented, motivated, and faith filled Christians that are passionate about building enjoyable experiences.

On November 9th, 2015 I had dinner with the executive team at Big Bowl in Rosedale Mall. They are pictured on the cover of this article from left to right, excluding me:

  1. Scott T. (Director of Marketing)
  2. Rob W. (President)
  3. Tony S. (CEO)
  4. Stuart E. (Director of Partners & Communities).

During dinner, I got to learn about their short-term actionables and long term goals for their website and the products and services they deliver through it. I also got to learn about the culture they try to foster for the rest of the team and for all of their members.

By the end of the night, I went home thinking…

Kingdom Advisors must be where God wants me!

As I went through the recruiting and onboarding process, I felt so valued and a sense of belonging that totally affirmed what I went home thinking.

I am very blessed to be joining this team!
